MAY 4 – MT. HOME MINI-HIKE

Leaving time: 8:30 a.m., reconvene and meet leader at Mt. Home parking 

lot at 9:15 a.m. Tenderfoot Tr., Cypress Tr., Dipsea, and Sun Trails. Views 

of upper Mill Valley. Redwoods and ferns, then views and flowers, 5 plus 

miles. Riders and drivers please call leader.


MAY 11 – SUNOL WILDERNESS 

Leader: Rick Vanderlugt (827-2115 cell) 

Leaving time: 8:30 a.m., reconvene at 9:20 a.m. at Old Green Barn Visitor 

Center. From 680 S exit at Calaveras Road/Highway 84 (do not take exit for 

the town of Sunol). On Calaveras Rd. go east 4.3 miles. Turn left on Geary 

Rd. and proceed to park entrance. $5 entrance fee or regional park pass. 

We will amble along several trails in the closest wilderness area you’ll find. 

With luck we’ll find a wide variety of sunflowers. Enjoy a panoramic view 

from the ridge and descend through a picturesque canyon carved by “Indian 

Joe” Creek. App. 6 miles.


MAY 18 – COYOTE HILLS

Leaving time: 9:00 a.m., reconvene 9:30 a.m. Visitor Center Parking Lot 

at Coyote Hills Regional Park; parking fee about $5, or pass. About 6 mi. 

Good views of the south Bay and salt ponds; birds, Ohlone Shellmound.


MAY 25 – GARIN PARK, HAYWARD

Leaving time: 8:30 a.m., reconvene 9:30 a.m. (Take I-580/towards Hay- 

ward, exit CA-238/Hayward, keep left to stay on ramp towards CA-238/Hayward, 

stay on CA 238 onto Foothill Blvd. and Mission, left onto Garin Ave.) We’ll 

do the Vista peak loop, Garin Woods, and Zeile Creek trail. Loop hike ap- 

proximately 7 moderate miles, and 948 ft. elev. gain.
